Cheri B. Torres
Cheri Torres, MBA, MA, is a facilitator and trainer who has worked with hundreds of corporations, community organizations and schools to develop individual, community, and organizational excellence. Experiential training and development combined with the strengths-based approach of Appreciative Inquiry are the foundational tools she uses in her work. Appreciative Inquiry is her process of choice for working with whole systems change and strategic planning because it is profoundly positive and inherently motivational. When working with individuals and teams, Cheri focuses primarily on developing competencies in the areas of teamwork, communication, leadership, and conflict resolution. She co-designed and patented Mobile Team Challenge, an innovative, high performance portable low ropes course and winner of the Creativity Award from the Association for Experiential Education, which she uses in her work with clients. She authored The Appreciative Facilitator: A Handbook for Facilitators and Trainers and Dynamic Relationships: Unleashing the Power of AI in Daily Living. She also co-authored Beyond Conflict: A Strengths-Based Approach to Conflict Resolution and The MTC Low Ropes Course Facilitator’s Manual. Her clients include such organizations as NASA, the US Forest Service, SunMicro Systems, The Tennessee Board of Regents, the Federal Highway Administration, the US National Guard, Gallo Wine, the Environmental Protection Agency, and The Spectrum Centre in Belfast. Cheri was a charter co-owner (now an associate) of Appreciative Inquiry Consulting, LLC and is actively involved with Business as an Agent of World Benefit.
